head bolts, '81 xj750

    so i recently had to take the top end off of my 1981 xj750 and i was lookin to found out how many pounds of torque is proper to tighten the head bolts back down.

    You'll also need to know THE ORDER in which they get torqued.

    could anybody assist me with the torque and the order? i would love to buy a repair manual for it but im a poor college student unfortunately...any help would be appreciated

    DEVON ENGLAND
    Head cap nuts (oil the threads) 23.1 lbf ft (3.2 Kgfm)
    8mm nuts 14.8 lbf ft (2.0 Kgfm)
    Half tighten first, then full torque, start in the centre, working diagonal & radiating out, finish with the 8mm nuts under.
