Just bloody bought this off someone as I’m riding it back to let it rest after 25 mins I notice smoke , it’s oil dripping down onto the exhaust , put on back of a trailer on way back.
Is this for sure the head gasket blown?
It’s not wet above the heat gasket line
It idles fine for being sat 4 years and pulls great, I can’t feel any air out around it and there is no smoke from exhaust pipe

Welcome to the forum. I doubt it is the head gasket. The cam cover gasket is the most likely culprit. Oil from the cover can get down towards the head and seep out. Because there is no visible oil above the head gasket that you can see take the tank off and check all of the cam cover head gasket joint. Let us know what you find. The seals on the cam cover bolts if deteriorated will not compression the cover enough to seal the gasket. Beware they are 10Nm torqued and easy to damage the threads. You can also do a compression check but l think head gasket is not the problem because it wouldn't pull great.

Oks i will try that, i did find it odd that oil was on top of the spark plugs but a really small amount. The valve cover does have RTV on it and i have a new Valve Cover Gasket on its way.

Ya was looking at both rubber seals for the bolts TourMax Valve Bolt Cover Rubbers Yamaha 4G0-1111G-00 4U8-1112G-00 £21.60 + £7 P+P

This is the cheapest option i can find as it includes all 12 (both sizes) When i take the tank off im hoping its just one of them. Would RTV work on the seal if they are leaking?

Not tried RVT, change the gasket first and see if it fixes it before you buy anything else.

So looks like its fixed! i put the new gasket on with RTV and RTV on the rubber doughnuts for now (i will replace the rubber when i order them) seems like a missed a tiny spot on the gasket in the very very middle but im not fussed its like a single drop of oil.
