Hey all. I have an 82 xj750, they run the rectangle headlights stock. My bike has a fairing on it and I am looking to remove the fairing to put a normal headlight/signals back on it. I was wondering if any other years with the round lights will wire right in. It's hard to find the rectangle lights but the round ones seem to be slightly more abundant. Are there any other lights that should swap right in? I assume I need the mount, but I could use those universal mounts if I needed to. Any ideas on how to get a new headlight mounted on this thing without too much difficulty/cost?

    thanks!

If you get the mounts, and are willing to be a little creative making room for the wiring, a light from a Maxim will swap.

Sometimes the site search feature isn't the best choice. Do a google search and add the following after your keyword(s)

    site:www.xjbikes.com

This should get you started. http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=25106/postdays=0/postorder=asc/start=0.html

Keep in mind that Raven was changing to round guages as well. If you keep the (awesome) Atari you won't need to make any wiring changes.

And be patient. Not all of us check every day, and It's easy for a post to get overlooked.

So should I have. The 650s have round lights. If you can fab a bracket you can use any round light that you want (so long as there's somewhere for the wiring to go). Regardless you'll have to relocate the horns.

oh cool, i was hoping that the 650 lights would fit. I should be able to grab a universal bracket off of ebay then. the 650 lights are so much more abundant and look better imo
