Hey all, I've slowly been bringing my 1982 xj650 up to speed and I've noticed that there is a small heat shield welded onto the exhaust on the right side of the bike but it appears the shield on the left was snapped off some time ago. I was wondering if any of you guys have seen this part sold anywhere (I've had no luck), or if I would have to replace the entire pipe.

That heat shield (and cosmetic cover) is part of the assembly. I don't think you'll find one as a seperate part, and it will need to be welded on if you do.
If you are not set on originality, you could remove the left side shield, use it to make a pattern, and fabricate replacement shields that you could either have plated, or polished. THat may be the more costly option unless you can do all of the fabrication work yourself.
