Hi, just wanted to introduce myself and compliment you guys on this site. There's so much info on here, I had to join up.
I'm new to street bikes and this seems like THE place to get my new 25 year old Maxim running just right.
Can't wait for the weather to warm up!

Welcome Phazer. Nice looking bike. Wow, 90K km! That's amazing. I was cruising around on my 650 today, and I agree: can't wait for the weather to warm up.

    Thanks.
Yeah, 90k is a lot. I've been wondering what I should be checking because of the mileage. Any suggestions?
I was going to change all the fluids, of course, but I also need to pull the valve cover to stop a small leak. Anything I should check while I'm there?

Welcome, Phazer! When you're inside the cams box, check the valve lash. There's a procedure to it, so get out your service manual. If you haven't one, let us know. I'm sure someone here can step you through it.
