    Hello everyone. Im james from sask. Canada. I just purchased my first bike. It is a 1985 yamaha maxim xj700n (thanks for the post on deciphering vin numbers chacal). Im also going to reread and the read again your "In the church of clean" post so thanks very much for that as well. I purchased my new 85 xj700 and have very quickly realized i have carb problems.

    So i knew buying this bike i would have to not only do the work to make it run the way it should but also learn how to do the work the right way. That said i am thankfull i have found this site. There seems to be copiuse amounts of information on this site. Im looking forward to what i can learn here.

    Remember too, the valve lash has to be in spec before adjusting the carbs. I'd hate to see you chasing your tail.
