Hi,I have a 1981 xj650 and supposedly a former owner swapped the front end with a xs1100 ? front end ? It now has dual discs upfront. I wanted to know if I should keep the standard master cylinder or is the 1100 master different? I'm not sure what I have right now. Suggestions? Thanks in advance. :?

the external appearance of the two differs, the 650 is rectangular, while the 1100 is tapered. The 750 has the same shape as the 650, but works 2 callipers, so the insides are different.

Thanks, wizard. I will check it out because my front brakes are virtually nonexistent. Thank again.

The main difference between master cylinders is the size of the bore. I used to have a list of what sizes the various XJ bikes used, but I can't find it. Mike's XS site has some good information on going from single to dual caliper setups
