    Hello,
I just purchased an '82 XJ550 Seca. I'm using it as a commuter bike for me. I've driven it one day today and I love it! It's very light and nimble but still has power.

Here's a picture of my new toy :)

Nice nab you hoser! (is it me or is the Canadian XJ community growing in leaps and bounds?).

Do this before you ride again:

Also strongly consider replacing your front brake line(s) with braided stainless steel (may as well rebuild caliper(s) and Master Cylinder while you are there).

These bikes are awesome fun, but safety is always job one!

Stopping is more important than going.

Then there is the obligatory - did you check your valve clearances? statement.

Most people here find that an additional investment of around $600 - 800 US is required to make the bike safe and reliable. Then there is also the time factor for making things right. But do not fret, this is a great community with a lot of very helpful people, ask and ye shall be answered.

There is also the Church that you may want to attend and if you need more reading there is Information Overload floating around.

Nice, I have a bunch of family in Hespeler, it's where my dad grew up. That's a clean looking ride, how many km on it?
You're right stumplifter, the amount of Canadians getting XJs has been crazy lately, probably because there's a massive selection of used ones right now, its kinda blowing my mind.

Nice bike. Did you get the hard to find right side cover. The 550 are a blast to ride when tuned up. How much do you pay for the bike?
