Hello to all of you!! I just purchased a 1983 Seca 750, and found this site looking around online. I've been browing the threads, and I think this site has a lot to offer about these bikes. Hopefully I can get my bike up and running with the amazing tech advice I've seen here. I'll get some pics up when I can, till then!

From one Turk to another, welcome to the forums. Lots of helpful people here, and we even got a dedicated parts retailer (Chacal)...

+ on Chacal; before you buy anything ask Chacal (Len). I have been restoring my bike and found going to him for advice as well as parts has proven to be invaluable. Read his Overload Information Hour on his vendor page, it provides some interesting facts about the XJs and their history.

    Welcome welcome!

Update your location and signature in your profile so we know where you're from and what bike you have without having to go back to this thread to check!

I'm sure others will be posting but to give you a heads up- check your rear brakes for delamination, your valve clearances, age of tires(anything over 6 years need to be replaced) as well as the age of the front brake lines.

So there's a short list, get to it!

Glad to have you around, the wealth of knowledge available and ease of buying replacement parts make owning an xj so much easier and nicer than a different vintage bike!

    Stay a while!

Welcome from NW Mississippi. Spent most of my summers in Orlando when I was a kid. Love Florida, I would live there if I could talk the wife into it.
