    Hi Guys,
    Im new here my name is willem and i am from the Netherlands got a yamaha xj550 try to build a racer out of it here some pics of the bike

    how it was

    changed the speedo en tacho face plates

    put the electical stuff under the seat

    new handlebars

    make the seat shorter

    and put some powerfilters on the bike

    Welcome, I hope you'll be inspecting & replacing the brakes too before riding? Especially the rear drum brake as the linings can separate & jam the wheel. There's links in my signature below with pictures :)

    Don't forget to let us know how you get on with those pod filters too (and don't throw away the airbox just yet!), a lot of people have a hell of a fight to get these things to run correctly with pods ;)

    Looking forward to how the bike turns out!

    Jealous of the speedo you guys got, the U.S 550's (and others too, my 750 included) came with speedo's with max's of 85mph (~137kmh)

    Oh yeah, that's a 200kmh speedo isn't it... Thought I was doing good with 180 lol :D

    Also, those bars are cool too.

    Holland has some nice roads for riding along with the countryside.Welcome to the party.I wish my 82 750 j had analog fuel and volts meter I have always loved the "look" and nostagia of them.

    Welcome Willem. I have some vivid memories of a visit to your homeland to see the Moto GP at Assen in '95 or '96. I found the Dutch to be very friendly and very TALL.
