I would like to say hello to you all. As already you helped me with my xj650 and it looks like I'm going to keep it I wish to say Hi as I will be here permanently. So my name is Mario and I live in England for past ten years, I had many bikes in past 5 years but I wanted something different so I decided to buy an yamaha a old one, the first one was 1980 xs750 I've sold it within 2 months as no space/garage available and It will broke my heart looking at it standing in all weather conditions in my garden. Now I have a 1984 xj650 UK spec bike. Bought it as non runner due to misfire. The owner said that he rebuild carbs but when I took them off the bike and strip it down I found that one of the towers that hold the floats are damaged and 2 mixture screws are fine thread and the other 2 course thread and lots of shims fitted to rectify the difference. So now I have to buy new carb bodies and repair kits that contains mixture screws that I need. So all done at cost of £250 I've fixed the electrical problems and bike now revs too hi.
Also I bought today a xj650 turbo 1982 43k miles all working with mot but a bit tatty for £600 it's a US import and I will modify this one as fancy a turbo bike. I am going to collect it next weekend. That all for now

Welcome aboard. Check for air leaks at the manifold boots and around the carbs shaft seals. Did you wet set the fuel levels?
