Just found this website and joined up. I recently bought a 1983 XJ 750 Midnight Maxim. I bought it in late Oct. last year and hardly got to ride it. I live In IL-about 50 miles south of Chicago. Not much on riding in cold weather. I can't wait till spring. I have rode since I was 7-about 28 years now. Haven't had a street bike in a lot of years--wife-kids-job(Police Officer)-etc. Finally talked my wife into letting me get back into it. The bike has about 26k miles and is in pretty good shape. Had to replace the mufflers--they were in bad shape--put chrome ones on it that came with the bike--don't look to bad-would of rather had black-but oh well. Has a little oil leak-I'll find it this spring-I think it is coming from the oil filter area. Well thats it for now-talk later. Mike

Welcome Mike. I know what you mean about 'getting permission' 8O  and cold weather.

I have 83 Maxim as well. What's different on the Midnight Maxim? Upload some pics into the gallery so we can have a look

I will submit some pictures this spring--I have a few things I want to do to it first!!! I hardly had a chance to do anything to/with it before I put it away for the season. Bought some cool graphics for the tank on ebay and will put them on and get it cleaned up this spring--if not sooner...Mike

Just noticed that Sno Sheriff is from Winnipeg. Been there a few times. My wife and family are from Gladstone-about an hour or so west.

What, my pics weren't good enough for ya?? :D :D J/K!!

You can't tell very good since mine's so dirty/dusty, but basically the Midnight is a standard Max, with everything blacked out, and gold wheels and some gold trim.

    Here's a nice example:
