    So, just saying hi! I got my '81 Seca 750 in August of '04, off of ebay for $100! They were expecting to sell it off for parts. But a little TLC, and she fired right up!

    Been working on getting her running smoothly since, but the bike gets me out on 2 wheels. And it's my first bike. A bit heavy, but not a bad starter bike I think.

    Welcome Speedwagon;
    Glad to hear another one was saved, although we do need part bikes once in a while. But I think only after there's no more saving it.
    Post some pics in the gallery.

    XJ750 Maxim = 224 kg
    XJ750 Seca = 218 kg

    Not a great difference. I think the Seca just feels lighter due to the higher rider position and centre of gravity.

    Parts bikes are nice, but a bike with less than 7000 miles doesn't deserve to be a parts bike! 8O
