    Hey Everyone!

Just thought I'd introduce myself as I am new to XJBikes.

I recently bought my first motorcycle. It ended up being an '82 Maxim XJ750J. I looked at a few bikes and my instructor from the MSF classes spoke very highly about the Maxims (I did the MSF class last year to get my license, but kept in contact with him).

I looked at 2 different ones. The first one needed way more work than I wanted to put in at this time, and wanted way more money for it as well. So I bought the one pictured as my Avatar.

After a little bit of work it is running great and so far is a great ride. Thanks to all the information I found here I was able to get it running without taking it to a shop and paying an arm and a leg for them to do the work.

I currently live in New York, between Binghamton and Syracuse (a little closer to Syracuse).

I am new too . Welcome!!!
I have owned Three Maxims a 650, 700x and a 550 which I just bought and am working on to get it going. So far my favorite was the 700x I also own a 400 Seca which is a fun little bike.

Howdy, all! Bit of a thread jack here, but it's the hangout lounge!
@3MAXIMS do you have any pics of the Seca400? I have never even heard of one before now! XS or XJ? (2 cyl or 4?) I've seen XS400 Maxims and XJ400s from Japan n Europe, but not Seca! I NEED MORE!
    pleaseansthankyou

Man, that looked light without the frame out front! What years were they made? Looks halfway between Seca and Diversion. (SecaII)
PS It's added to my Xmas wish list. I like the blue. Start shopping early!

It's like a small 2cyl chain drive version
    Of the 750 Seca.

FYI, the Diversion was the continuation of the xj900. The Seca II was a continuation of the 600. The 600 was the FJ600 and also the xj600 Seca II. Iirc, the 600 engine had a lot in common with the 550 engine.

My memory is foggy, so bear with me please! I thought that @FtUp was in the process of swapping Divi parts onto his 550. That's why I thought Seca2 was the US version of Euro Diversion. Always happy to be shown my mistakes!

That's ok, I understand...... I thought I made a mistake one time, too, but found out later I didn't.

The engine acts as part of the frame.
