Good day, apologies if this seem so basic. I just inherited this 86 750 maxim. I know absolutely nothing about mechanical. My goal is to start the venture and get this bike going on my own with some help from the XJ forum community.

anyways, I just bought a new battery and before I hook up anything I wanted a couple pointers to make sure it’s down correctly.

on my negative and positive I have 2 red cables and 2 black, what ones connect to the battery. All 4 or just 1 red 1 black?
    I have attached pictures

Black cable is for the negative battery post.

Red cable: one goes to the starter solenoid, and the other goes to the main fuse in the fusebox. Both would attach to the positive battery terminal
