Help.. How do I remove the 2 piece handlebars from my Maxim?

    Is there a trick to removing the handlebars on my 82 maxim? Ive got them lose but they won't come off? Thanks in advance for any help!

    No, no real trick. Just 30 years of stuck :D

    If you are trying to remove the whole handle bar, then only 2 bolts. The chrome cap bolt is 5mm, remove that. Then remove the handle bar pinch bolt. Then take a plastic or wooden shim and pry open the handle bar a bit and it should just slip right off the splined shaft that is also bolted onto the upper tree mount.
