K guys so I am going to make a plate or something tomorrow but I thought I would ask what everyone does. I was at work today when a co-worker came up and say you might want to keep an eye on your bike. I am thinkin huh and asked why. He said look it's sinking into the ashpalt. And it was about 1/2" or better in a few hours. So I am going to make a metal plate probably either powder coat or jsut paint it and keep it in the saddle bag. What everyone else do??

Lol, i took a plate of steel and I use it as my test paint piece. It is currently Rasta Striped and matches my bike. I get just as many compliments on my kickstand plate as I do my bike

    Park on concrete :p

I carry around a piece of metal that's about 4''x4'' I acquired at some point in my adventures to put the stand on. So far it's worked.

We have concrete parking for bikes but most shops will sell or give you a plastic disk for that purpose. There are several kinds. One of our local shops gives them out like business cards with their info on them.

I have only seen one actuall kickstand plate. It is supposedly a limited edition from the redwing Boot company. The guy that has it had it given to him and never uses it. It sits in his pickup truck Oh and yes he has a bike. A big old harley in fact but rarely rides it.

I use a piece of aluminum abt. 4X6 on my gravel drive way. My bike doesn't sink any more into the mud or gravel. :D

I've got a piece of 1/4" plywood that's about 4x4 that I keep in my trunk. Our office has a bunch of small pieces of plywood in the m/c lot. I've also been known to use the center stand. I figure that even if the feet sink into the pavement, they shouldn't sink more than enough to put the rear tire on the ground.

I made up some 3 X 4 diamond plate pieces.
I welded a small plate to the Silver Wing- - you can't park in sugar sand without something.
Or just crush down a beer can.

    I can see it now,
"Excuse me sir, have you been drinking at all today?"
"NO Ossifer.. Theres no blood in my alchohal!"

Being Canadian, I used hockey pucks for years... less than a buck at most stores.

Lately, I use a rough length of 2x4 that fits handily into my rear trunk on the Venture - at 750 lbs, it can bore a hole into hot pavement fairly fast. Sooner or later, I am going to have one of the better welders at work tack a bigger flat foot on the kickstand.

One of the best ideas I have heard of is drilling your puck/wood block/metal plate to accept a 4 foot length of fishing line, string or light chain, then you wrap the line/string/what-have-you around your handlebars so you don't drive away and leave your block. I haven't done it yet, but it is a good idea.

The metal cover from an electrical junction box works really well.

Ha, I have a 9-10 inch piece of string attaching the soup can lid to the frame.
It is just long enough to reach the ground under the kickstand.
I have one of those red light changers(they don't work) mounted under the motor.
I just through the lid up under the frame and the magnet is strong enough that it grabs it.
It's never come loose, if it did the string's so short it won't interfere with the bike.

I park mine inside the building at work! Otherwise have been known to use the centerstand or a crushed soda can.
