    I have an XJ700N 1985 and the air cleaner joints (carb to air box) are totally perished.

    The part number is 1FG-14453-00-00, but seems to be discontinued everywhere!

    Is there an alternative or a fix to sort this out or will I have to go over to pod filters?

    Any help or info much appreciated. I am in the UK.

    Hi - have you tried other models of the same year? CMSNL list the joints for two other models of the 1985 XJ700. The numbers are identical with the exception of the three digits upfront.

    Yeah tried that chekers97, mainly for the Maxim X water cooled models and similar. Looking at pictures from other Yamaha bikes at the moment to find something similar size and fit! The FZS600 inlet rubbers look like they could work.

    HCP849 Aftermarket Air Cleaner Box-to-Carb Rubber BOOT, for all air-cooled XJ700 non-X models, each:
    $ 22.95 via Chacal

    Good luck - having to do the same for my 84 XJ900 for those unobtanium parts.

    Yeah looks like that's my only option really. Don't want the hassle of going with pods!
