Hi fellas, you may or may not remember me from this past spring and the 750 seca I had. I sold it and scratched an RZ350 itch that I had developed. I pretty much restored the 350, enjoyed the mess out of it but sold it here recently. I only got my wife on it one time, and I scared her that one time, so she never liked the bike.

So here I am, I'm looking at an 82 1100 maxim. Something my wife and I can both enjoy. I've got a few questions..
I'm assuming the 1100 does NOT share the same suspension and frame as a 750. Am I correct in this? But I would expect the bikes probably share maybe the same electricals? guages? seat? tank, etc?

I just scanned ebay for some 1100 parts and can't find diddly squat. Are these bikes fairly rare? Any pointers on where to look for second hand parts? Thanks for any info guys..

I think the XS1100 & the XJ are pretty much the same bike, try searching that & welcome back. Wiz.

The XJ1100 is bigger than the 750 all the way around. Plenty powerful enough for riding 2 up. It's instruments are very similar to the 750 Maxim's. It has air assist. on the front and rear shocks. Many of the parts from the XS1100 will fit the XJ. Both models have dual disk front brakes, but one side on the XJ (left) is linked with the rear brake. I haven't had any problems finding what I need for mine. There is much info. to be had at XS11.com. Hope that helps,

    Mike

Normal maintenance parts are easy to get. It can get hard if you need some parts, but you can get anything you need from EBAY. ItsMikey is right about the XJ/XS1100 they share an almost identical frame, engine, suspension. XS11.com can point you in the right direction to get any part you need. Post a parts wanted add here and you'll have many responses.
