High low beam switch

    My high low beam switch does work all the time. High works find but low beam works when it wants to. Is there a way to fix the switch cause I can't find any replacements. It on a 1983 xj750

    lots of places to look before you get a new switch, fuse box, bulb socket, bulb, connectors, the crud in the switch

    Have you tried removing the switch and clean the contacts and lubricate with dielectric grease? Trace the wires from the switch to the headlamp bucket and look for poor connection or bare wire.

    the problem is the switch, tried cleaning it ,works better but not perfect. how do u get dialectic grease in the switch? cause the switch it self u can't take it apart

    I would try spraying electrical cleaner in there and work the switch back and forth.

    I tried to find a replacement on XJ4ever but no luck. Can only find some for xj550,650, not xj750 midnight maxim. Who do I have to talk to for parts on this site?

    Is the only problem the headlight high/low beam switch? If so it can be replaced separate from the entire control pod assembly. We should have a good used one available.

    I got the high low light switch working like new now, but now I need a side stand stop switch, was wondering is you can help me out, thanks

    It's not - it was just a silly joke, hope Ryan can take it. I'm grumpy today and feeling punchy. You know all these safety switches are my pet-peeve, and we don't need to get into it again. I respect those that love them, but my opinion is that they give a false sense of security and are a real PITA when they go bad and you can't start the bike.
