    Hi guys,
I was in the process of restoring an XJ650P. I bought the bike in really messed up condition. Cleaned up the rusted fuel tank, replaced the leaking fuel petcock, replaced the entire carburetor assembly and tuned it up, and finally replaced the faulty battery with a new one. Things got much better except for the fact that I still had problems cold starting the bike.Relating to this problem a mechanic friend of mine told me that the final issue my bike had was of starter clutch being worn out. I was in process of fixing that but few days back, after a long ride I made the mistake of cranking the engine at too high rpm at neutral before i shut it off. In doing so the engine suddenly shut off. Now it won't start no matter what. Even when trying to push start at gear no. 3 engine just doesn't respond and comes to halt. As soon as I release the clutch it comes to a halt without any usual response. So what could it be..is this a case of engine seizure or something else? Please help! :-(

Does it turn over? If so it's not seized. (Not that something else might not have broken.)

You mean when in gear?....well...when trying to push start engine doesn't seem to turn over. Bike can only be moved either in neutral or when clutch is fully pressed. Dismounted the self start motor and checked. The motor was working fine and to check again if engine turns over, once again I tried to push start again without self start motor but to no avail. Put the motor back in and now taking the bike to mechanic friend of mine for diagnosis. :-(
