Heya.. I remember reading on here years ago about removing the anti-tamper plugs on my old XJ's Hitachi Carbs, if ever I wanted a proper tune.. Well, that never happened & the XJ is long gone.

Fast Forward... Today I'm working on an XS850 with very similar Hitachi CV carbs.

Has anyone drilled out the anti-tamper plugs for the idle screw on the XJ or XS / Hitachi carbs?

As you can see I already drilled in about 1/4" and haven't broken through.. Any ideas how thick the plug is? I do NOT want to eff up this carb. I'll continue drilling if there is a consensus that its safe to do so..

If anyone has pictures or video of this process, that would be super helpful!

    Thanks!

I found this video that covers the topic pretty well.. I must be very close with my drilling.
