Hitachi carbs float levels

    Hi. I need to know what the corect hight for float setting on a 85 xj700 with hitachi carbs. Is it 17.5mm dry and 3mm wet or is that just the 750?

    Carb Manufacturer: Hitachi
    Carb Series: HSC33
    Fuel Level in float bowls: 1.0mm +/- 1mm (.039" +/- .039")

    Setting the fuel levels

    Hitachi HSC33 series (XJ700 air-cooled models):
    -Fuel level measured via the clear-tube gauge: 1.0mm +/- 1mm (.039" +/- .039")
    -Float height: 16.0 +/- 1.0mm

    just remember float height is a starting point

    Hello, take your time with the Wet Set and watch the Video on this site it is the most critical adjustment you can make, it's not a whole lot of fun doing it and much worst if you have to do it again, ask me how I know this LOL...

    You should replace your needles and seats for the floats if they haven't been done in a while you are in there, I also had to replace my floats as they would keep changing the float level measurement after sitting even that nobody else seemed to have that issue on this site it happen on my bike.
    Don't go cheap on the parts either.
    Sorry if I sound negative but very few if any seem to get it right the first time as you will read on these post I myself and I know my nuts and bolts had my carbs off and on 4 times in the last 2 years to get it where I thought it should be .
