    :?: Possible :?:

The welded area on the bottom part of where mufflers meet the joint are rusted through. I'm concerned about the possiblity of engine running lean.

Or am I worrying too much? Yes, I know I could check the spark plugs and I intend to after I get to ride the Seca regularly. I brought it a couple of weeks ago so the bike is undergoing a mini-restoration right now.

    Thanks!

How rusted through is it? it all sort of depends on how big the hole is. My Seca has 2 small (smaller than a penny) rust holes in the collector but they haven't changed the way she runs, just the sound a little bit.

The hole is about an inch long and half inch wide, basically the size of weld. It's on the bottom of the left muffler when the bike is on its kickstand. I assume it's because the water gathers there whenever the bike is on the kickstand.

The right muffler seems all ok.

It may not actually be a problem, but you can take it out for a ride to see.

Get it armed up and the choke off, then take it out to about 50 and let off the throttle---do not engage the clutch and just let the engine slow you down. if you hear a backfire you may be lean.
