Just pulled my two into one exhaust and discovered holes in the cross over pipe. Personaly I would like to cap it off but I would like to know just how much differance it would make. Any thoughts?

    Two into one?

I'm guessing you mean ... 4 into 2 ... and, then those two into one.

The cross-over probably handles very, very little back presure ... if any.

It's probably a very important structrual member ... I'd guess. Keeping the system from shifting around, coming loose and falling-off.

I'm pretty sure the cross over pipe is supposed to have holes in it - drain holes for moisture. However, if these are not the holes you are talking about, Rick is correct the crossover is more or less for support and not really back pressure

Definitly not drain holes. These are from rusted out spots. I'm surprised that they are like that considering the muffler is not that old and it is custom made by (this is no joke )a NASA engineer. I think I'll cap them off and weld a brace there until I can build some better ones. Thanks for the help.

Now you know why they pay those space shuttle pilots all that BIG money.

You'd think NASA welders would do a better job...... at least it wasnt foam!
