Does anyone have pictures, measurements and specifications for a four cylinder home made manometer/carb synchronizer? I want to build one but not sure of the tubing lengths and how much oil/fluid to put into the tubes.

You can use the single tube / 2 cyl one and just balance the 2 banks of carbs separately. It's far easier to make the single one and there is less room for "leaks" from multiple joins that will drive you mad trying to balance the 4 carbs at once.

If tyou bench sync first, it will be close enough that it shouldn't suck the oil thru. But use 2 cycle engine oil and it won't hurt anything if it does go thru.

+1 - I've used the single tube version for years now and have never had the oil sucked into the motor. I've got about 12 feet of tube all up, so there's a fair bit of room to adjust if it's way out

Guys...I used a 4 dial vacuum gauge set to sync but the gauges were bouncing around alot. I'd like to try the 4 tube manometer.

The link shows a single stick, 2 carb manometer. Is there a link out there to a four carb manometer?

Secondly, the YCIS shutoff tool is still a necessary component to the test, correct?
    Thanks, Greg

I borrowed a home built YICS tool once and it worked well...time to build my own. Thanks for the links.

Re: Home made synchronizer /manometer for four cylinder bike

I just made a four tube manometer using four 10' sections of 1/4" tube and four 1/4" sprinkler drip system tees. Put it all together, make sure each tube is the same length, seal up the open ends of the end tees with a hot glue gun, and add atf. To keep it all together and organized I taped it to a 2x4 and hung it from the ceiling. Worked great. Bench sync first and you won't suck any atf into your engine.
