My dad left me his 1970 CT-90 K1b trail bike and I plan on restoring it. Does anyone have one of these little gems and if so how hard are the parts to find nowadays. I will post some pics as soon as I start this project

I almost bought one about a year ago, but didn't because of the shape it was in and the price. I think you should be able to get parts for it on ebay, or through the net.

Go talk to a mainstream Honda dealer. A buddy of mine has a '64 or '66 450 "Humpback Whale" and Honda still offers DAMN near every part for it. Then there's eBay and you need to find a Honda NOS specialist or two. (I know of two really great NOS Yammie sources, there have to be Honda equivalents.)

Parts is parts, unless you're talking PRE-WW2 you can still find pretty much ANYthing. Sometimes the only barrier is $$$. I found an NOS EXHAUST COLLECTOR for the 550 Seca, but no way am I paying $440 USD when they can be got for a tenth of that used.

I'll bet you can find anything you need. I just saw a listing on Craig's list here in the Detroit area for two CT-70's one original runner and a parts bike. Apparently you're not alone. There may be a whole "Honda Trail 90" subculture out there you're not aware of. Enjoy.

there is, they go for alot, i saw one go for 1600 resaerve not met, right now i see one for 800, with 2200 miles (who puts 2200 miles on a 30 year old 70 cc non road legal bike, but not on a 700 cc motorcycle?) and the reserve wasnt met..
my dad friend bought a running one for 50 bucks, not pretty but it runs, he uses it as a pit bike... doin wheelies everywhere

Gotta friend who has a 1969, I believe. Got bent up a little in a truck accident on black ice last fall. I found him a 67 for $350 bucks. He is going to use it for spares. They usually sell here for $1000 up in running condition. Doesn't matter much what the year is.

CT90's have a cult following and that's why they have such a high resale value. Unlike most Japanese machines that are discontinued or designs changed after a few short years, the CT90 was produced and sold in the millions all over the world for many years. It's rugged, easy to work on, and fun to ride. Most parts are available through Honda dealers and there are also many aftermarket parts available for this model. I sur wish I owned a few of them so my visiting friends and I could go for a ride through the woods on my property here in Maine now and then. BTW - Yes there is a CT70 but is more of a mini-bike and does not look like the CT90 but it is street legal and has a cult-like following all it's own. In later years, the CT90 morphed into the CT110 which looked very much the same, but simply had a slightly larger displacement and a little more power (many parts are interchangeable). There are Chinese motorcycle companies that are producing clones of the engines used in the CT-70's and CT-90's and will bolt right into place as a replacement engine, however the internal parts are not interchangeable with the genuine Honda engines as various shaft and opin sizes, etc. are slightly different.

If anyone reading this has an old Honda 4-stroke single or twin, any year, size, model, or condition (including wrecks and basket cases) wants to get rid of it. Please get in touch with me (if you are in or near the New England region).
