I'm putting a stock airbox on my xj550rj, and I notice that there are two hose connections on it - one on the front of it, and one on the bottom.

I see an open hose connection on top of the engine, so I assume one of them connects there... but which one? And where does the other go?

I've never seen one of these bikes except mine, and I got it with the pods on it. I got the used airbox from Cycle Recycle (junkyard).

Can somebody describe where the hoses should connect, or even better point me to some pictures that show where they should go?

I'm a newb at this, and I really appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you very much.

i have a 750 , but the one on the front [larger on mine] goes to the crankcase [breather] left hand side via a bent rubber hose , and the small one just underneath there is no hose for mine but i gather there should be as i think thats just a water drain or whatever

Yep, It's just a drain hose that hangs loose underneath.

Yeah, what HooNz said. The drain (the one on the bottom) should have a section of hose on it to guide any overflow from the carbs down away from the bike. It just hangs out the bottom like the battery overflow tube. If you dont' have a hose on there, I don't think it's a big deal, but I'd spend the $.59 for a hunk of tubing.
