How can a guy go about changing gear ratio on a xj 650

    Bud have you taken a MSF rider class yet? Those are great classes and I think there are three levels, beginner, advanced and sport bike. I have taken all three over the yrs, I can tell you that at under 25 mph the class will get the blood pumping. They teach really great riding skills in the advanced and sport bike classes. Be warned, I have seen good riders dump their bikes in the class trying some of the maneuvers. It will build great rider skills, confidence and it might make you enjoy a windy country road better than a 1/4 straight.

    That is why is it called the middle drive gear?

    because it is in the middle between transmission and final drive at driveshaft and rear hub gears??

    only yamaha knows for sure why the call things what they do
