How did you hide your rat's nest or clean up your wiring?

    Hi folks,

I've been searching these forums for a long time and getting some great inspiration and tips. I've chopped my 82 Maxim 650, and I'm working out how to hide a lot of the wiring. It already has the upgraded fuses. (P.O. did inline blades).

What I'm curious is for the differen methods of relocating the Rectifier and the TDI... Project Enlosures used? Using the old Air Box if you put pod filters on? What's everyone been doing for cleaning them up and who has pictures?!?

    Cheers!

Anything is possible- - this guy put the battery in the tail, and hid the rectifier and ignition somewhere, leaving just AIR in the center of the frame.

Depending on your exhaust, and if you remove your center stand, you have alot of room under the swingarm for alot of stuff.

    Thanks T2R

That is one sick cafe racer! I'm certain there's plenty to do with enough stick-to-it-ness. I have an aftermarket exhaust that the P.O. put on, which isn't blocking too much space... Never considered the center stand removal... That's going to take some weighing of the pros and cons. I've had plenty of time on a new bike that doesn't have one, but found myself witshing it did at times when doing work on it.
That's a pretty sweet pic and good start. More pics are encouraged if anyone comes accross this...

image.jpg I was able to mount everything on the frame rails under the gas tank of my 82 650 maxim. Cut down the wiring harness and you can't see a thing.

I remember seeing a thread on here awhile back of someone making the minimal wiring harness on a piece of particle board does anybody have any clue to what thread that was under? I thought that was a great idea to do

yup you take your existing harness and put it up on plywood or partical board.

hold in place with nails and zip ties mark out where the connectors are that you want to keep, remove most of the wrap map your wires and colors and remove harness and run your wires from point to point.
label and make a list 5 foot red /w wire from conn 1 to conn 2 ect . Detail records and you can reproduce them for another bike from tour photos and detail list
I used to make harnesses for the first one i would hang the harness twice and leave it on the board for referance
