I am finding myself in a situation where some parts are no longer available.
    In this specific case it's a petcock. Part number is 2GH 24510 01 00.

I know there are probably other Yamaha tanks out there that ight have the matching shut off valve.

Any ideas n where to start?
Like measuring center to center of the holes?

This is the other petcock that's on the bike.
It has two. One on the tank and another on the left side that can be operated by hand. This one is easy to find, the other one isnt.

I measured holes on a 94 Seca 2 tank I have laying around and hole distance is identical.

Yeah, I just noticed that when I googled it the results came back with the other part number. My bad for posting the wrong link.

    Can yours be rebuilt?

Problem is there was no petcock on the tank.
But I just found one in a box that actually came with the bike. Lucky me. I just need a seal and hope the petcock itself is fine.

But still, it would be good to know if there is some sort of lookup. Not sure if yamaha provides stuff like that.
I'm sure other models use the same parts.

Most of the parts lookup sites I've used will give you the complete list of models it was used on once you browse/click on the part number even if discontinued. As far as measurements etc. I haven't found anything for that. When I was trying to source Chrome emblems I had to go off pics and asking people for measurements.

Yeah. Pretty much everywhere it is no longer available.
I sometimes buy stuff on ebay that has the missing parts still attached, like petcock on a tank they are selling :)
Nice workaround as it always gives me additional spare parts, but sometimes it is not the cheapest way.
For now I am good, was looking for a petcock, but I just reused the one from the old tank and have another one that I will rebuild. Len proofed to be very helpful, as always.
