I have to pull the alternator rotor off my ’82 XJ 750 Seca. I got the center bolt out, & it looks like some yama-tool threads in there & pops the rotor off.

Is there a DIY tool that you’ all use or make up that does the job?

    Thnx

I don't have the size but an appropriately sized bolt is threaded in and pushes the rotor off. A search should yield the size.

    You need a M-16 (15.80mm dia.) x 1.50 pitch. at least 35mm long.

Here's what I ended up doing:

Got a bolt from a harbor freight "large" bearing puller [turned out to be a M-16 (15.80mm dia.) x 1.50 pitch], a 1.5-2" long section of garde 5 3/8 bolt shaft, with the head cut off.

dropped the grade 5 bolt into the alt shaft hole, screwed in the HF bearing puller bolt, tightened it up till the rotor popped off.

    thanx guys.
