This is the last pics of my scoot before I tore it down for a "faster" look rebuild.

Those are 21" homemade sharp tipped bars and those are drag bars I ordered that hit my tank...that became the shifter.

It was primer blue with dual stripes and cateye light , then this, now back to sport with more pizzaz, lol.

Last pic is whats eating my time, fen to chop a 4 door unibody 8O

Nice! Love the idea of putting the clutch-lever right on the suicide-shift lever. Brilliant. Though the location of the steering wheel on that car might cause some trouble :p

Shifter is well balanced for not having a pivot and it was really driveable...for me at least, lmao. Although it was a serious anti theft device in my eyes....nobody is ready for 21" bars and a 30" hand shift....tricky tricky, lol.

Im going to be matching the bike to the car for now, back to mauve primer, lol.

If you're chopping a car named after a planet, it better be a Mercury.

IF I want to copy everyone else, that is the blueprint.

But to have 35mpg plus , 1800lbs, and run a 13 sec 1/4 mile on a good shot of juice....thats a real world rod. I cant wait for the next big show to tow in the chop behind my rod, gonna be funny to see reactions, lol.

"real world rod"??? A LS1 in an old chev is a real world rod. 5.0 HO EFI in a shoebox is a real world rod. Saturn SL2 on nitrous is rice.

Put an LS1 in it, run 11's and get 30mpg :p

oh and for the record i'm a ford guy.

No. A Civic with a fartcan exhaust and neons is rice. That chopped Saturn is cool like ice cream...

if you chop your motorcycle its a chopper. if it runs 13s on the bottle its a commuter. hehe :p

Now if it had some rediculous ecotec mounted in the trunk then it would be a REAL hot rod haha

Sorry I am just a jerk when it comes to "hot rods". hahaha its all in good fun.

Easy there. There is retro rod, resto rod, rat rod , hot rod and street rods and a few more rare versions. Real world rod is my new term for Hot Rod in the new Millenium. Its basically what the old guys did....they were not modding Deucenbergs or Caddilacs...they were chopping and modding the cheapest cars they could afford, it was realistic to have the most basic car and modd it from there. The real world part comes form the fact I have 4 wheel disc brakes that costs $115 to swap rotors and pads all around. Just to freshen up some drum brakes on anything older than 65 get reallll Ugly real quick....between parts availability and cost.

An LS1 and all parts needed cost roughly 3 times what I have invested total ,including the car.....this is no Boyd or Foose ride, its a real world hot rod. Fun, peppy, eye catching and MOST of all CHEAP!!
