I want to lay my bike down to clean and maint the underside, im just aprehensive on how to do it, i was thinking o turning the handle bars the opposite way you want to lay it down, and then lay pleanty of towels at all the contact points where the bike hits the ground, and then have somebody help me lay it down gently.... or i could somehow have it hover above the ground because we have hooks in the ceiling of our garage, so i can lay it down an then ratchet it up an inch, just osme thoughts..
dont wory about loading up the carbs or flooding though, i have no carbs or gas tank...

last week i had to lay my girlfriends new 79xs400 down. the PO had stripped the head of the drain plug. I just carefully laid it on its side with blocks of 2x4s in strategic places to keep the bike off of the mufflers. Then I hammered a 16mm socket on to the stripped 17mm head, loosened the bolt, and stood the bike back up to finish the oil change

Easy! I used a cherry picker, engine hoist, to stack 4 XS650's on top of 4 other XS 650'S. This is an easy and safe way to lift a scooter off the ground without tipping it over onto the cold wet snow.
