Does anyone know a reliable way to limit front fork travel. I think i need to lose about 3-4 inches at most of travel. See my turbo build. Basically I need to limit travel so that the intercooler does not hit the front fender.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Would puting something in your forks to preload the springs help? I've read that some have put pvc pipe in to keep it from diving so much. Juat a thought. New springs from Progresive might help.

If you use Progressive Suspension Springs, ... you need to do as the Instruction Manual recommends.

To much Preload will cause the Spring to be compressed "Solid".
Progressive makes different Springs for all the XJ Bikes.
Get the ones that belong in your Bike.

If you loose 3-4 inches you will have pretty much no travel left, you would be better off with either mounting the intercooler elsewhere or fitting a different one which wont get in the way

Progressive springs also come with spacers that sit on top to pre-load the suspension. I would be surprised if they didn't work. They significantly reduce the dive on my FJ.

Heavier weight oil will stiffen them up a bit, but as far as reducing travel, don't think it can be done, like the other guys said if you put in spacers you literally can lock the forks. Longer forks would just screw up the bikes geometry.
