For a long time I thought I was the only one that owned a XJ until today. On my way to the bank I ran into another XJ rider and we had some fun riding down the road. My bike is stock but his has some ad-ons, and it looked cool. I wish I would have meat this rider before, because today I am a Harley owner. Well I pick it up tomorrow after work.

I have been wanting a Harley for over 25 years now but other things kept coming up. In a year or 2 I will trade up.

As far a the XJ goes, it's going to the wife and staying in the family. The Harley I got is an XLH 1200, the goal is and FLH.
My bike Man am I ever happy.

    Congrats!

The Harley looks great, sporty but not too aggressive.

Make sure that XJ's taken care of now :D

Okay....so guess you aren't a total traiter since the wife will now be riding Stella, but 10 lashes with a wet noodle for going to the other side.

It does look great. Dog-gone-it-all (just some more Texas slang)

Don't forget where ya came from. (wipes tear from her eye)

You know, I wanted another Harley for the longest time.... my 1st bike was a Harley. (1953 Harley 125 cc and It WAS great!!)
But now I'm rethinking the whole Harley thing as many of my friends with Harleys are finding them to be lots more trouble in upkeep and expense.

Seems those Yamaha Road Stars are pretty sweet, look and sound like a Harley too, with a lot less vibration and what seems to be more reliability...
Oh well.... what is it about having a Harley I still want one!?

It's not what your riding, it's the wind in your face...so i've been told.

Good words to live by I think, sorta carries some deeper meaning if your the sort to see it that way.

    Stella's my XJ....we don't have two Stella's do we?!

It's the marketing stragety. We "think" we want one because we feel somehow inadequate by not having one. (Count me in on sucked up by commercialism)

But.......I am doing my best to remember I will have a Harley when:

    1) I win enough lotto money that I can throw it away.

    2) I get a husband who says "Look baby I bought you a Fat Boy."

    3) Someone is giving it away on Craigslist. OR

    4) It's one of those die cast miniatures.

My favorite Harley is a poster. No oil leaks, no one trying to steal it, no unGodly insurance costs, no fuss. Best Harley you could hope to own. On the other hand, there was this beautiful Indian I've lusted over for the past decade....

Holy crap. Stella is my step-sisters name. Why on earth would you name you bike after her? You know now that I moved up I don't plan to move down. I will ride the old girl to work tomorrow and back, then park it until the wife gets her permit in 2 weeks.

Dreams do come true. I feel like I hit the big time.

"Always love the sinner, you may even like the sin" Give in to temptation, you doubtless would enjoy the ride!

oh, well thank you very much for that :p

My first car was named Stella and she ran forever. It seemed appropriate to name my first bike Stella as well, hope she runs forever too :D

Inspired, I assure you, by Kim Hunter and NOT Angela Basset :p

Oh.....we are slow in Texas. I thought you wrote Anyone? for additional reasons to name a bike Stella. Instead you meant anyone wanna share why they named their bikes what they did. (pops herslef upside the head)

Well......I struggle with that myself. It seems everyone names their cars and bikes female names, so when I went to name mine, I was going to do the same, but somehow suggesting that I was riding Stella (if you will) just didn't sound apporopriate, so I leaned toward a guys name, but that didn't seem appropriate either, so......................I named it FROG. And don't even go there about me riding an animal.

Every bike/car I have owned has been named Betsy.

I wouldn't know what to swear at when I scrape a knuckle if I changed now...
    :D
