I hate to, but - For Sale 82 XS400J Maxim

Hey Guys,

Its time to move on to a new bike. My XS400 has served me well and been a REAL learning experience. You all have really helped in my rebuild process, so I wanted to offer it to you guys first.

I'm going to ask $1000 for it, but I really only need to get $750 for it, so its yours for 750 if you want it!

It does need tires and will eventually need carb work. It takes a bout 2 or 3 minutes to warm up but then runs GREAT. Pulls good, good speed, no wobble. It does have some valve noise. Since I've had it its gotten a new exhaust valve, new cam chain, new valve cam (one of them), new rings, and new head and base gaskets. I have had the bottom end open and the primary guide is still in perfect shape and the starter clutch is working fine.

It does come with crash bars (hard to find for the maxim 400). It is missing the top of the right side cover, the rest of the covers are there. I will throw in the spare parts I have for you guys, 2 intake valves, 1 exhaust valve, a complete set of valve springs and collets. A complete valve head and some other various parts.

At this cost, it does need to be picked up. Here are a couple of pictures, let me know if you want to see any more or anything specific.
