OK im thinking about selling my 1983 750 maxim. How much do u think i should sell it for. I live in central florida, Absolutly nothing wrong with the bike, just repainted it, the only thing i am missing is the right side cover. The engine was just repainted black and i have pods on it. Just put carb kits in and adjusted all the floats. There are 46,000 miles on it. So what do u guys think?

I think that people will shy away because of the mileage, I'd say you'd do well to get $800

Check local papers and Craigslist to see what is out there and prices. Mileage will not be a huge factor to folks who know these bikes. If it is clean and in good running condition you could get $1000 to $1500 - again it depends on the market - last year bikes sold for ridiculous prices around here.

Bikes are selling for ridiculous prices around here.$1000 won't buy anything running,so I guess it depends on the market in your area.

Here in Central Texas ALL bikes sell well. I'd say ask $1850 to start. Mileage WILL hurt you I'm afraid though. Many buyer still think 20K on a bike is high mileage, no matter what the age.

so much of the value of the bike depends upon how it was ridden and maintained. Mileage is less a factor for a well maintained, non-abused specimen.
