I think my valve timing is out.

    The notch is not on the side of the cam. As you are sitting on the seat look down next to the cam chain on the right. There should be one dot on each cam right next to the cam chain sprockets. Rotate your crank until the dots rotate up. They should line up with the arrows that are on the cam caps that are on the right of the cam chain. If you pull the sparkplugs out it will make rotating the crank alot easier.
