While tinkering with my carbs after putting them back in the bike, I seem to have lost my zero for idling. Which way closes and which way opens the butterflys and is there a starting point without having to take the carbs off again?

Almost embarrasing having to ask ..

    Thanks

The big knob?" "IN" increases the idle, "out" decreases it.

The "fiddling" you need to do with the sync screws is called a running vacuum sync and it's your next step.

Unless you've completely foofed your bench sync at this point in which case you may need to do it over.
