When I first start the bike in the morning the choke doesn't seem to have much affect on the cold starting. When the engine warms up the idle sticks at or around 3000 rpms. Trying to use the choke to slow it down yields nothing. It acts as if the choke wasn't even on. I have no idea as this is my first bike and day two at that. Any ideas?

if you go to the top of the page you go to the search option and type in syncing and do a search. There is a topic of idle problems you might get some info that may help you. Hope that helps.

You also might want to search carb cleaning... Rick has a really good thread on how to.

I looked up idle and carb cleaning. I didn't have the time to work on the bike before I was due across the state so I took it to the local Harley shop and they cleaned, synced, and balanced my carbs for $25.00. Now all I have to adjust to this new throttle response, lol.

For $25, I highly doubt you got your carbs cleaned, synced and balanced..
