Hey everyone! Just picked up a 1985 Yamaha Maxim XJ700 for $600 and I am working on getting it running. As of now it only runs on the choke and revs to 6-8k RPM's then if I give it throttle it stalls out. Also spark seems super weak and there isn't one (or sometimes sparks) on cylinder three/four. Will the 1982-84 model coils work with this bike? as well as the intake manifold boots? I have cleaned out the carbs and everything seems good there! I suspect a vacuum leak as well but the weak to no spark has me thinking that it is playing a part too!
    Thanks everyone!!

Check the wires and spark plug caps. Rust forms in the caps.
