Why do you think you'll need a whole motor? Just curious...

Well i think second gear is going because it is slipping(but may just be the rear end)I put the details in another topic. And it sometimes slips out of first at high rev. So im thinkin a new motor around 300 or so would be cheaper than splitting the cases and buying new tranny gears.

I have a 650 Turbo motor that I would let go pretty reasonably. Not sure I agree that that's what you need though. I'm sure they gears in your tranny are fine. Most likely you need shift forks which would cost well under $100. Of course you'd need gaskets, oil, etc. Oh and a lot of time. Someone posted a link here recently that had a method for doing this without pulling the engine. Looked intriguing.

The motor is in S NJ if you're interested. I would be willing to meet you somewhere half wayish if you cover the gas.

Actually, you wouldn't. The 650 Turbo motor is identical to the normally aspirated motor with a few exceptions. It has fittings for an oil cooler.

The exhaust ports on the heads are identical. On the turbo the exhaust goes to a 4 into 1 so it can feed the Turbo, but there's no reason it has to. Normal Seca exhaust will fit and work fine.

I believe there are a few other minor differences. I think the heads on the turbo motor (as well as the clutch) are beefed up a little to handle the boost.

The turbo uses different carbs (pressurized) but normal Seca carbs will fit and work fine.

Aside from the oil cooler, I believe the Turbo motor will drop right in place of the standard motor. Others can certainly chime in with other info.

The turbo motor would drop in but it has less compression than the normally aspirated engine does. But other than that it would fit. If I were you I would look for a 750 or even a 900 motor:)

    Gears don't slip.

    Clutches slip.

Throw a clutch in it. You can get a EBC Clutch at a very reasonable cost.

The clutch is easy to get to and replace as well. It still sounds to me like it might be shift forks, but it might well be worth replacing the clutch first.

You will need either a clutch tool or a impact wrench to get the nut off though (at least that was the only way I could get it off).

Not sure about a 900, but I'm pretty sure a 750 will drop right in.

IS their much power diff in a 750 from a 650. And it's still shaft driven right?

I think the only difference is the size of the heads. I guess each one would be 25 cc larger. Other than that, I believe they are identical.

Well took it out today, the bike seems to be slipping I can't tell if it's popping out and sliding back in or what. I'm gonna have my buddy look at it on Monday,so maybe he can shed some light on it. Might just be clutch, but I don't think it is. Ok would their be much of a power diff between a 650 turbo and a 750 non? Geebake how much are you looking to get for ur motor? And what all would come with it?
