Who do you guys recommend for motorcycle insurance. I haven't ridden for a few years and have recently rebuilt a couple bikes. Now its time to get insurance. I set up a policy with my car insurance company, but now that I have received the cards I see no medical coverage. I asked about it and they said they dont offer it for motorcycles that if I get hurt in an accident that is my fault I have to report it to my medical coverage I get through work. That is pure BS! It won't cover an auto type accident, what the hell are they thinking. So now I am looking for a new carrier, I am not riding with this policy - no how no way.

Insurance is regulated by state and can vary a lot. You don't say what state you're in.

When I signed up with Progressive they offered medical at very little extra charge so I took it. Two years ago I found out why.

A girl ran a stop sign and I plowed into her. The ER charge do diagnose a sore foot was $1500. I turned it in to Progressive.

It turns out that under Michigan law the responsibility for those bills falls in the following order:

1 - Her insurance (which was fake)
    2 - My Automobile insurance
    3 - My Health insurance
    4 - Progressive

So the only way Progressive would ever have to pay the medical is if the motorcyclist was at fault, didn't have an automobile policy and didn't have health insurance.

Progressive did a wonderful job of dealing with all the parties. The only reason I know about the steps is the representative kept me informed. I never had to deal with all those different companies. For that reason I'm a loyal Progressive customer. Besides, Flo is hot.

There are lots of companies that offer motorcycle insurance. In my experience it is cheaper getting quotes online. Some of the top insurance companies offer discounts when ordering online. I recommend this site for online comparing: http://www.quotes-center.com/motorcycle ... uotes.html
