I just recently took my 82 xj650 into the shop after a ton of carb frustration and it looks like I'm in need of some new intake boots. Does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere I might be able to find a good deal for some? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

*deals* on new ones are tough..Chacal has em....local dealer has em too. Lots on here "repair" them with RTV sealant...but I went for new ones as well. Got some gently used 28 year old ones I'd make ya a sweetheart of a deal on! :)

Do you mean the airbox to carb boots, or the carb to engine boots? Sometimes the words to describe them are confusing.

he said intake boots. LOL. not airbox boots.

the airbox boots would't really make any difference in performance. the intake boots would make a big deal.

don't know what chacal sells the boots for. but they're close to $100 a PEACE.

Both "boots" intake air. One is the Intake Manifold, and isn't really a boot as it is aluminum encased in rubber. The other intakes air, and is actually a rubber boot, and is often called an intake boot by those who don't realize that a little more specificity is required. And they both make a huge difference, though due to the fact that they are actually boots, the Airbox-to-carb boots wear out more. They are only around $13.50 a piece.
