Hi all, i'm the proud new owner of a 1983 XJ650.

I live in Sydney, Australia so if anybody lives nearby give me a bell.

    So here she is...

(I tried to embed the photo's using the BBcode, but they weren't visible, what am I doing wrong?)

Pretty clean, but i have plenty of ideas for what to fix up, first thing is a new front tyre.

The headers are covered in rust and are, i think, beyond repair. So i'll look at finding something to fit those, I would mind a new exhaust, this one is scratched from a couple of tips, and the note could be deeper.

I'm going to get some new bars and somewhere along the way i'll find some new dials, but first I need to clear up the MC, its covered in corrosion.

The thing I'm most keen on is changing the seat and cleaning up the rear end, get rid of the plastic rim around the outside, change to some bullet lights.

I'm hoping I should be able to pick up some 12v lights on ebay or somewhere and then plug and play? Is there anything I should be careful with here?

    cheers

Make sure that whichever lights you choose won't blow the fuse. If you're talking about the headlight, your stock one draws 60/55W (high/low beam).

That's a whole lot cleaner and more rust free than mine was when I got it. You're gonna have a LOT of fun!
