I should stop riding it. I'm wearing it out. 8)

And a random picture from the ride, not on the fly of course.

    9,80o miles.....

If you keep pace with the previous owners it will wear out in about 1,000 years.

The PO"s obviously didn't ride it much, thankfully. The way it was running when I bought it wouldn't have been good for its longevity. Unless you call idling at 4,000 rpms normal. It was quite neglected as I'm sure many 30 year old bikes are.

Thanks! I repainted the cluster and headlight buckets as I didn't care for the chalky, faded look. I would like to get the lettering painted white again but I fear my hand might not be steady enough and I'll end up with nice white globs in place of letters.

Yeah, I only see one that's even nicer.............the red is all deep red on both faces, and the numbers say 14xx (can't remember at this second). :) It's sleeping in a bag on the shelf for now............

I bought an instrument cluster at a salvage yard earlier this year because I needed the housing as mine was held together with duct tape. Unfortunately it didn't come with a speedometer or I would have either swapped them or at least the faces. As you can see this one hasn't seen much sunlight.

Another milestone. Time for an oil change.

Not too bad for only 31 years and 10,000 miles.

See you in 5,000 more. :)
