Jumpy Tach

    Does any one know what would be causing the tach to jump around when it reaches between 4 & 5000 rpm on an 82 Seca750? It works normal up to that rpm.

    Those are electronic, so maybe it's grounding out? I'd make sure all your connections are clean, tight, and there's no exposed or fused wires.

    After that you can look at the needle.

    Thanks I will check the connections, this bike sat outside for 3 year's.
