After 31 years one of my seat straps finally broke today. I'm trying a buildup of shoe goo to repair the split at the mounting bracket, but given the stress at that spot not holding much hope. They are $30 to replace with a pair.

Anyone find a way to Mcguyver a strap or some other way to secure stock seats?

Buy a belt. Make a new strap from that.

Thanks for offer. So far my shoe goo repair is working.

Glued split rubber with superglue followed by generous coating of shoe goo smeared around area. Holding so far.

Regular old superglue just to connect split. Outside coating of shoe goo does heavy lifting and stays flexible. Shoe goo is almost like a liquid rubber.

I used shoe goo years ago to glue split in seat seam. Has held up 10 years.
