Right. Look closely. It's pretty all right, but those are the original brake lines. "New motor." Somebody paid to have the motor done, and did a lot of cosmetic work. Now it's a trailer queen; riding it would be dangerous.

    Nice to look at though.

With that many miles and as clean as it is-someone did at least a partial restore - look at the frame it's either new or newly reconditioned. Love the clutch cable!

Yes it looks nice.......good enough cosmetic job....but if the motor was out, why not do a better job on the frame? Pic 13 on the downtubes looks like black gloss rustoleum brushed on right over the rust/paint chips....could have sanded it before painting! Bin there...done that....won't do it again...

I fired off an email to the guy questioning his idea of "mint" and I informed him about the brake line issue. I don't expect a reply though.

Didn't see that the first time Yammadof! But your right it doesn't look right. Oh man between the brake lines and the hack paint job looks like it is really fine, shiny snow job. Dang!

Would be tough to restore another one and keep it under 3K. Might be a good one to get and finish a few things and ride the wheels off.

Anyone notice the SERIOUS road rash on the left engine guard, partially hidden by the bolted-up peg?

It might be worth $3Grand just for the nice parts and the work to this point; but it's FAR from a "complete restoration."

MN: good point...use the rash/paint work/brake hoses to bargain the price down to $2250 - $2500.....worth a good look at that price....

Oh definitely. Based on the pics, I'm seeing about $400~$500 more to be spent on things like stainless steel brake lines, new shocks, fork springs and based on everything else we're seeing, probably some shims and a valve cover gasket. Oh and it's gonna need a new rear tire soon.

still pretty nice polish job and nice looking classic xs. I'd want to make sure the engine is the production engine for that bike. Anyone notice the dual disc front brakes? That wasn't standard on that bike was it?

Dual brake in front and a rear disc were standard for all models of the 1100.
